Props to the Internet Frog

Ever had an inkling that your internet service provider might be just a smidge ethically dubious? Make sure you're getting what you pay for with internetfrog.com's free speed test tool, which tracks your bandwidth's overall performance over time. Since I began employing Comcast's shady services in our new place, I run this at least once a day. Some of the useful information it provides:
  • Average Download Speed

  • Average Upload Speed

  • Average Quality of Service (QOS - consistent download capacity provided by ISP)

  • Average Return Trip Time (RTT - the total time in milliseconds it takes to upload a small amount of data and receive a response)

  • Average MaxPause (the longest recorded pause in the test process)

We certainly think it would be an improvement over our ISP's data transfer rates, and reliability as well.

    See you soon,
