Love Katamari? Play it on any webpage!

Simply load any page and then copy & paste the following in the URL bar:
javascript:var i,s,ss=['http://kathack.com/js/kh.js','http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.5.1/jquery.min.js'];for(i=0;i!=ss.length;i++){s=document.createElement('script');s.src=ss[i];document.body.appendChild(s);}void(0);

You'll be glad you did (until you waste all of your time doing this).
Works best in Chrome or Safari.

Otomata by Batuhan Bozkurt

I'm passing by this dreary-ass afternoon playing around
with Otomata, a fun little flash sound sequencer.

similar to glitchscape or tonematrix, which I posted about awhile back.

and while I'm at it, I'ma make some noise with this flash dj setup

ToneMatrix is for Humans

If I had kids, they'd play with this brilliant modern day equivalent music box.
[since any such progeny would almost certainly be addicted to the internet, they might as well have good taste in the toys it has to offer].
On the other hand, I might be screwing up their expectations: it's so insanely intuitive and addictive to use - really quite hard to make something that sounds bad on this thing.

Perhaps us "mature adults" can more responsibly handle the instant smile this creates from suddenly discovering hidden "musical talent".
[it's really just the awesomeness of the ToneMatrix]

First Person Tetris

I'd ask if you remembered the music or the sfx, but of course you do. We all do.

Tetris is like the blocks you got to play with in kindergarten but with a better soundtrack and more 8-bit sound effects. I recall it from my childhood with more ease than I do any instruction I received about finger-painting about sharing or making wind-chimes out of old silverware, for sure.*

But this perspective altering version of Tetris will have you asking if the floor is the ceiling, if left is south, and if forwards is back in time. It'll have you seeing things all kinds of caddywompus, which is just so much fun to say. Try the night mode too.

*Though the best kindergarten activity was making ice cream out of snow.

Starlight

Flash zen: find the viewpoint from which you see a picture. If I ever need a spatial skills test for a psych study, I'll just ask people to play one of the two timed modes.
All about the chilled out browser games.

Chest Cold Means More Internet Games

I'm afflicted with some sort of surprisingly-non-swine-flu-but-instead-cold-like-symptoms business. And while I hate not being able to smoke (quitting soon!), I thought I'd take some of my convalescin' time to look on the brighter side of contagions with these flash games. Enjoy with plenty of fluids. All are via Armor Games.

Omni-Directional Treadmill Means New Life for Virtual Reality

No longer a 90s pipe dream.

From Gadjitz:
The omni-directional treadmill called CyberCarpet created by Cyberwalk would revolutionize the way virtual reality is used for therapy, training, architecture and, eventually, gaming.

...works by densely packing small balls under a walking surface and letting the friction of the user’s shoes do the moving.

The device has already been used to take a few lucky individuals on a virtual walk-through of ancient Pompeii.

Thanks to Paul B. of niobid for the tip.

Flow

I finally found a nice little flash version of this mesmerizing mini-game that launched with the PS3. It's only decent - nowhere near as visually impressive as its progenitor and the gameplay is rather limited. But it's definitely the best translation of the original. The mouse controls motion. Eating the red organisms to get deeper into the game. The rest is designed to be instinctual.
