"Can egg nog be frozen and thawed for use at a later date?"
[Yes. Last week to stock up and plan on awesome pancakes well into the Spring.]
"What is Eggnog, and is it nice? Does it go by another name in England?"
[Of course! It never occurred to me to look for this in the UK myself as I was ill around Christmas.
Wiki def: "a sweetened dairy-based beverage made with milk, cream, sugar, beaten eggs (which gives it a frothy texture), and flavoured with ground cinnamon and nutmeg; alcoholic versions also exist with the addition of various liquors, such as rum, brandy, or whisky".
My guess is most English would enjoy it -- based on their endearment for clotted cream and other heart-stopping paths to transcendence -- either warm or at room temperature. Apparently something similar to Eggnog dubbed Advocaat is sold in the UK. So the serious question remains: how familiar are the English with pancakes, and wouldn't they like to be more so?]
